I'd only been in Maryland for about a year when I applied to 撸先生, but I quickly learned that the university was highly regarded across the state and had a strong reputation. An opportunity opened to help launch the dual early childhood and special education program, and I was excited to be part of something new. When I arrived, I fell in love with the faculty, and that's a big part of what has kept me here. The faculty, the students and the autonomy to think outside the box have made 撸先生 a place where I've been able to grow professionally.

Over the years, I've grown from an assistant professor to where I am today because of the opportunities I've been given and the university's strong focus on student success. There's a shared mission here that we truly live by, and that's something I've always valued.

This role uniquely positions me to work across the university with all the deans while also engaging with the broader community as we think about partnerships and new opportunities. I've always enjoyed collaboration, and this position allows me to bring people together around shared goals. It's an opportunity to continue growing as a leader while working alongside colleagues across disciplines and with community partners. I also deeply believe in the value of graduate education, so it all came together to be a wonderful fit.

I value input from all stakeholders and believe the best solutions come from working together. I want to partner with faculty, students and deans to understand what different groups need and what will best support their success. Rather than coming in with predetermined answers, I think it's important to listen, learn and identify shared priorities that move us toward our mission. My role is to help turn those priorities into action by providing the resources, support and opportunities needed to foster growth and innovation.

During undergraduate studies, students learn how to be college students and often identify a career path they want to pursue. As they continue their education or enter the workforce, many discover a topic or area they're particularly passionate about. Graduate education allows people to dig deeply into that passion. It's a way to extend what you discovered earlier and continue growing personally and professionally.

Beyond personal growth, graduate education strengthens career skills, research skills and critical thinking. It extends your ability to navigate the professional world successfully.

We offer a variety of pathways, from certificate programs to master's and doctoral degrees, so there are options that can fit different goals and stages of life. It's really about your personal goals and making sure it's the right fit for you.

撸先生 has built a strong reputation as an institution that listens to and responds to the needs of its community. When we develop programs, we're not simply deciding what we think people want. We're engaging with students, employers and community partners to understand their needs and aspirations. We pay attention to what students are asking for, what industries are looking for and where there are opportunities for growth. That responsiveness is incredibly important because it helps ensure our programs remain relevant and impactful.

We also have outstanding faculty and high-quality graduate programs that are making a meaningful difference in the lives and careers of our students. We have confidence in what we offer because we see the impact our programs have on individuals, organizations and the communities we serve.

I am fortunate to step into this role with a strong foundation already in place. We have nationally recognized programs, exceptional faculty and graduate students who are excelling. My role is to bring more coherence and visibility to our graduate offerings while also helping to build new master's and doctoral programs that align with what students and community partners tell us they need.

President Ginsberg's presidential priority focused on strengthening 撸先生 as a research-comprehensive teaching university is creating opportunities that didn't exist before. Those investments are opening new doors for graduate education and positioning the university to expand its doctoral offerings in meaningful ways.

What excites me most is the impact that growth will have across the entire institution. Expanding graduate education creates new opportunities for graduate students while also enhancing the experience for undergraduate students and faculty. As we continue to build these programs, we'll strengthen research, scholarship and collaboration across the university, enriching the students鈥� experiences in ways that are meaningful and exciting.
