撸先生

Towson University in Northeastern Maryland (撸先生NE) is Towson University鈥檚 facility in Harford County. While 撸先生NE is located on the grounds of Harford Community College, it is a fully functioning off-site location of Towson University comprised entirely of commuter students. The curriculum offered at 撸先生NE is the same curriculum offered on our main campus, taught by 撸先生 instructors; many of whom drive from the main campus in Towson to teach at 撸先生NE. Graduates of 撸先生NE receive a Towson University diploma just as anyone who attends classes solely on our main campus would and have the opportunity to 鈥渨alk鈥� with all 撸先生 graduates at the commencements held on the Towson campus.

1. Yes. Because 撸先生 only offers junior and senior level coursework at 撸先生NE, students must complete an associate degree, or equivalent credit count, in their anticipated 撸先生NE major before transferring to 撸先生NE.  In addition, students must complete the required prerequisite courses for their major before enrolling.  

2. 撸先生NE students typically transfer from Harford Community College or Cecil College, but we do have 撸先生NE students who came from other local schools such as the Community College of Baltimore County or other four year institutions. Students can transfer to 撸先生NE from any accredited college or university as long as the needed prerequisite courses have been met.

If a 撸先生 main campus student wishes to take a course at 撸先生NE, they may do so on a space available basis. 撸先生NE students are given first priority to register for 撸先生NE classes, but if there is space available in classes at 撸先生NE after all new and returning 撸先生NE students have had the opportunity to register, they will be opened up to main campus students to register.

2. If a main campus student wishes to fully switch from main campus to take all classes at 撸先生NE, they should connect with the 撸先生NE Program Coordinator of their intended major to verify that they have completed the needed freshman and sophomore level classes to be able to finish the degree at 撸先生NE.

1. All interested students apply to 撸先生 through the Towson University Admissions App. When completing the application, select Towson University in Northeastern Maryland as your choice for location. Please visit the 撸先生NE Admissions webpage for a link to the online application and more details about what is required. If you've already attended Towson University before, you must instead complete the reenrollment application through the registrar. Then email 撸先生NEMD AT_TOWSON for assistance in registering for classes. 

2. 撸先生NE's application deadlines mirror the main campus. Please visit the 撸先生NE application instructions webpage for further information. 

3. Absolutely! When you apply, you will have your most up to date official transcripts submitted as a part of the application process, even if you still plan to complete additional coursework before transferring to 撸先生NE. Once you complete all coursework at your institution, you will be required to submit an updated official transcript submitted with your final grades posted.

While a couple of the majors at 撸先生NE offer one or two classes during the minimester term in January or over the summer, the majority of 撸先生NE鈥檚 courses are offered during the fall and spring terms. Classes are typically offered during the daytime Monday through Thursday, but some evening classes within certain majors, as well as some online classes within certain majors, are available as well. 

All programs aside from nursing begin in the fall semester only. The nursing program continues to admit students for both the fall and spring terms. 

1. The cost of tuition for 撸先生NE students is the same as it is for main campus students, both in-state and out-of-state. Student fees are reduced for students studying full time at 撸先生NE as compared to 撸先生鈥檚 main campus students. There is also a differential tuition cost added to the following 撸先生NE majors: Business Administration, Information Technology, and Nursing. 撸先生NE students who take classes on main campus will have their fees pro-rated by the Student & University Billing Office during the term(s) they take classes on main campus. 撸先生NE students taking classes on main campus also need to consider the cost of student parking on main campus. 2. 撸先生NE students are eligible to apply for all aid programs at 撸先生 (grants, scholarship, loans, etc.) in the same manner as the University鈥檚 main campus students. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) found at to apply for all federal student and parent loan programs, need-based grants, the federal work-study program, and some need-based scholarships. 撸先生鈥檚 FAFSA Code is 002099. If you鈥檝e already completed a FAFSA for this year but didn鈥檛 include 撸先生鈥檚 code, please return to fafsa.gov to add it. To be considered for merit-based scholarships, such as the Transfer Achievement Scholarship, apply for admission to 撸先生NE by the fall Early Action deadline on the 撸先生NE application instructions. Spring term 撸先生NE applicants are not eligible for merit-based scholarships, but can still submit a FAFSA to be eligible for other forms of financial aid. Yes. All Towson University students, including 撸先生NE students, must obtain their Student ID, referred to as a 鈥淥neCard.鈥� Instructions on receiving a OneCard are given to 撸先生NE students during the mandatory new student orientation held prior to the start of the student鈥檚 first term at 撸先生NE.

Parking at 撸先生NE is free. No permits are required. However, if you choose to visit the main campus in Towson, vehicles parked there must have a valid 撸先生 permit or purchase a ParkMobile App permit during enforcement hours. 撸先生NE's Assistant Director is able to provide tutoring services, writing support, library services, research assistance, and academic achievement workshops, among other things. The Assistant Director coordinates peer tutoring groups for certain 撸先生NE courses and is also available for one on one assistance with students as needed. A wide variety of programs, activities, and social opportunities are organized throughout the academic year at 撸先生NE with input and planning by a Student Advisory Board (SAB). They seek to meet the needs and interests of the students attending classes at this location. 撸先生NE has a full time Director of Student Services who assists in organizing student-led groups. Students interested in starting clubs at 撸先生NE may contact the Director of Student Services to form a new club or create a branch of a main campus club at 撸先生NE. The Director of Student Services also runs various activities at 撸先生NE throughout the year, such as Speed Networking, trivia, International Games Week, local community outreach opportunities, and an End of the Semester Celebration. There are also many leadership opportunities available, including internships, student employment, and leadership positions in 撸先生NE鈥檚 student groups.  

Yes, as a 撸先生NE student you are now a Towson University Tiger. The OneCard gives students access to all of the student opportunities found on main campus, including Burdick Hall Fitness Center, Cook Library, and the Counseling Center, and there are many activities and events that you might find educational, interesting, and fun. While every course needed to graduate is available at 撸先生NE, 撸先生NE students can choose to take courses on main campus. The tuition is the same on main campus and at 撸先生NE, but fees may increase if a 撸先生NE student takes courses on main campus. 撸先生NE students choosing to take courses on main campus should check with their academic advisor before registering to make sure the courses will count toward program requirements. While a 撸先生NE student may choose to never go to main campus, the option is always available!
