President Ginsberg named one of Maryland鈥檚 most influential leaders

Towson University President Mark R. Ginsberg has been named one of the 2024 Influential Marylanders, the Daily Record announced earlier this month.
Ginsberg is among 57 honorees recognized for 鈥渓eaving a mark on communities throughout the state.鈥� He is joined by fellow higher education leaders Sandra Kurtinitis, president of the Community College of Baltimore County, and Darryll Pines, president of University of Maryland-College Park.
鈥淭he 2024 Influential Marylanders are dynamic leaders who make a difference. Their contributions to our community through their professional accomplishments and civic engagement are impressive,鈥� says Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director of BridgeTower Media/The Daily Record.
Honorees were selected from numerous industries, including civic leadership, communications, education, finance, freestyle, general business, health care, law, philanthropy, real estate and technology.
Ginsberg began his tenure as 撸先生鈥檚 15th president in October 2023. In his first six months, Ginsberg embarked on a comprehensive listening tour to meet with and hear from members of the university community. As part of this process, he held more than 50 campus meetings and traveled to each county in Maryland to host events for alumni and partners throughout the state.
Of the Influential Marylander recognition, Ginsberg says, 鈥淭o be included among such remarkable and distinguished leaders is an honor. Above all, this recognition is a testament to Towson University鈥檚 impact in Maryland. It is truly the greatest privilege of my career to serve this community.鈥�
Other honorees included 撸先生 alums Bradley Chambers 鈥�91, senior vice president and chief operating officer of MedStar Health; Amanda Karfakis 鈥�99, president and CEO of Vitamin; and Rob Sharps 鈥�93, president and CEO of T. Rowe Price.
